Volunteers Urgently Needed - Sailability is coming to Hellas.

Between 16th June and 7th July, 2003 Australian volunteers will be in Greece to introduce Sailability to Thessaloniki and Athens.  During this time, a number of demonstrations and “come & try” days will introduce people with any type of disability, to sailing.  These events will be funded by Australian not for profit organisation, Access Dinghy Foundation Inc.

Volunteers in Thessaloniki and Athens are urgently needed to assist to organise these events.  No sailing experience is necessary.  Anyone interested in recreation for people with a disability and empowerment of the disadvantaged, are encouraged to contact us to find out more information.  We need help to locate suitable sailing venues, liaise with local government and help contact potential sailors.

Please contact us urgently to find out how you can help:

Funding for two fleets of Access Dinghies has already been obtained in Australia.  In late 2003 and early 2004, a total of 10 x Access Dinghies will be shipped to Athens and Thessaloniki – 5 to each location.  These boats will be the basis for the new community Sailability Hellas programs.
