Download Sailability Hellas Newsletters Currently in Greece there is no program established to provide sailing for people with disabilities, either entry level or elite competition, and anywhere in between. The aim of this project is to develop an entry level program at two sites :-
The proposed Sailability programs will be fully integrated avenues for people to experience the joys of sailing, regardless of age, ability or financial status. Such programmes are evolving throughout the world and are providing the opportunity for people with any type of disability to participate with their family and friends in recreational sailing, or to compete against others of any ability. Australia, and in particular Access Dinghy, is recognised as the world innovator in entry level and disabled sailing. The benefits of this project will be an ongoing program that will introduce whole new segments of the community in Greece to sailing. As we have demonstrated around the world, this program introduces disenfranchised members of the community to the freedom of sailing. In particular -;
The formation of such a program in Greece during the lead-up years to the Paralympics will assist to raise the profile of sailing for the Greek disabled community and will leave a legacy for the future benefit of this traditionally disenfranchised segment of the Greek community.
