 November newsHello, Organising a national sailing class regatta is a huge task, and Southport Sailability has done it magnificently. ... Well done!!!! Four nations and 58 competitors participated in the Australian and International Access Class Championships at Southport in March. I remain hopeful that there are many sailors in our community who could contribute to an event like this happening on the Capricorn coast. Sailing is included in the disabled Olympics as well and I am aiming high with this blossoming club, without losing sight of the calming unique experience which we are experiencing. We have the skills and location to build up to an event like this but it's the little steps along the way which are just as critical.
It has been a good two months for Capricornia Sailability with a successful grant application from the Iwasaki foundation for a new Inflatable craft. We are still ironing out the details to best utilise this money. But the inclusion of an Inflatable boat or our own will greatly increase our mobility and flexibility and safety in the future. We can now be found on google and have been integrated into sailability.org website. It used to be almost impossible to find us. Sailing Calender We have heaps of bookings for future dates. Mark these dates into your diaries and get back to us with availability and bookings. 25th November (Wednesday) 19th December (Saturday) 27th January, (Wednesday) day after Australia day Get in early for next year. Group bookings and expressions of interest for school holiday/day of week/location etcetera should be put forward by you now before I finalise next year's calendar.
