About the ClubAbout Sailability Rushcutters Bay Sailability Rushcutters Bay was first established in April 1999 to manage and operate our first Payne 7 Class yacht, Independence. This yacht was designed and built with disabled people in mind through a Work-For-The-Dole program. Shortly after, we took delivery of our second yacht, Intrepid, which was built under the same program. The club was then granted permission to base its yachts at the marina built by the NSW Goverment in Rushcutters Bay for the Sydney 2000 Olypmics and Paralympics. Members of the FIRST Executive Committee who formed the club were Dave McDougall (President), Grahame Rayner (Vice-President), Zoltan Pegan (Secretary), and Bob Bundock (Treasurer). Sailability Rushcutters Bay operates three Sonar Yachts (three person Paralympic yachts), two Payne 7's. 2.4mR (one person Paralympic yacht and the SCUD 18 (two person Paralympic yacht) training and coaching programmes are provided through Sailability Rushcutters Bay own Instructors and NSW Instatute of Sport sailing
