Belmont Sailability lost its president,  Burt Reay

It was with sadness that I learnt of the death last Sunday of Burt Reay, President of Sailability Belmont, at the age of 77.He was one of the foundation

members of that branch of Sailability after the initial Come and Try Day in November 1997.The branch was based at Belmont 16s Sailing Club,

with which he had been associated for forty years. Burt's contribution to that club was recognised when he was made a Life Member in 2005

and this was just one of several tributes to recognise his great community spirit including Lake Macquarie City Council - Sports Administrator of the Year 2006,

State Volunteer of the Year 2007, Lake Macquarie Citizen of the Year in 2007.

Burt's enthusiasm and passion enabled Sailability Belmont to become one of the busiest branches in New South Wales, with many groups and individuals enjoying sailing

four days every week during the season and Burt was there for most of them!

Our thoughts go to his partner, and his many friends at this time. His funeral will be held at the Belmont 16' Club at 10am on Friday 31^st July
